A haunt-themed bed and breakfast, where our first priority is to ensure an unrestful night’s sleep.

Dead by Dawn Dead and Breakfast operates year-round with three themed-rooms and overnight activities filled with terror. It’s a different kind of hospitality. “This is for people like us who love Halloween. You will not get a good night’s sleep, but we’ll make it worth the distress and anxiety you encounter in the dark.”

The evening begins with an “Unhappy Hour” and you are instantly part of an experience like no other. We will make our introductions, and along with other guests, you’ll take in all that the Shrunken Head Room has to offer. Cold beverages, hors d’ oeuvres, and pocket billiards help to ease you in to this haunting venture.

Guests are free to roam historic downtown Manitowoc or the rest of the Lakeshore area for the evening, but must return by11:00 p.m. when the doors to the Dead and Breakfast are locked in preparation for a frightening night in the chambers of the 1851-established building. When midnight strikes, it’s lights out and everyone must be in bed. The Nightmare Room embraces all your fears and uncertainties, the Pirate Room holds the secretes of the deep dark waters, and the Coulrophobia Room is specially designed for those with a paralyzing fear of clowns.

TheDead and Breakfast is located at 901 South 8th Street (Highway 151) in downtown Manitowoc on the “coroner” of South 8th and Franklin streets.
